Resolution

fact
VigilEnt Security Agent for iSeries

symptom
Unable to delete some authorization lists that were left on my machine after uninstalling.

cause

This is an issue IBM is investigating. Following is some background and a workaround.

Attempts to delete the authorization list manually yields a message that it cannot be deleted if it is securing objects on the system. However, there are no objects being secured by the list.

During the PTF process, the system builds an index over these objects but never clears the index when the apply is completed. These indexes are created at the system level and cannot typically be seen.

fix
At present, the only way to remove them is to go through SST, damage the object, and delete it. IBM is currently looking into PTF process to determine why the indexes are not being cleared.
