Situation

How to apply all PTFs in preparation for an IBM OS upgrade.
When trying to apply PTFs permanently, the process stopped when it reached 1PSC001 PTFs.

Resolution

Use the APYPTF command to apply the PTFs. It is not necessary to do an IPL to do this. The command can be entered and run interactively.

To apply the PTFs, from a command line, complete the following:

APYPTF LICPGM(1PSA001) press F4 to prompt and indicate the following (where "1PSA001" is the name of an installed license program*)

Product  . . . . . . . . . . . .   1PSA001       F4 for list
Release  . . . . . . . . . . . .   *ONLY         *ONLY, VxRxMx
PTF numbers to select  . . . . .   *ALL          Character value, *ALL
               + for more values
PTF numbers to omit  . . . . . .                 Character value
               + for more values
Extent of change . . . . . . . .   *PERM         *TEMP, *PERM
Delayed PTFs . . . . . . . . . .   *NO           *NO, *YES, *IMMDLY

*Do the same for each of the following license programs that are installed: 1PSC001, 1PSD001, 1PSI001, 1PSP001, 1PSS001, and 1PSV001. You may not have all of these products installed in which case, there would be no PTFs that will apply.
