Error: 'Timeout occurred communicating with Password server.'

symptom
The error: 'Timeout occurred communicating with Password server' occurs when changing a password with VigilEnt Password Manager for Oracle.

cause
These error messages are caused when the 'Password Listener' process has stopped.

fix

To resolve this issue start the 'Password Listener'. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Password Manager console.

  2. Select the Scanner Processes tab.

  3. Select the Pwd Listener tab at the bottom of the form.

  4. Click the Start the Password Listener button.
