Below is a check list for starting and stopping an Oracle database with VigilEnt Password Manager installed.

It is suggested you try to incorporate these items into a daily procedure for starting or stopping an Oracle database for maintenance purposes.



Stopping the Oracle database for maintenance.

  1. Stop the Unix process for "PeopleSoft 3-tier Breakins".
  2. Stop any scanner process from running automatically: "Pwd Listener", "Audit Scanner", "Notification Scanner" and "Partner Sync Scanner".
  3. Stop all Oracle Profiles from being "SQLCQR enabled".

Starting the Oracle database after maintenance. 

  1. Start the Oracle database.
  2. Start the Unix process for "PeopleSoft 3-tier Breakins".
  3. Restart any scanner process that was stopped earlier: "Pwd Listener", "Audit Scanner", "Notification Scanner" and "Partner Sync Scanner".
  4. Re-enable all Oracle Profiles to be "SQLCQR enabled".

It is also recommended that you incorporate these items into a daily procedures for starting or stopping an Oracle database for NON-maintenance purposes.

  1. Start the Oracle database.
  2. Start the Unix process for "PeopleSoft 3-tier Breakins".

Stopping an Oracle database from non-maintenance(daily use). 

  1. Stop the Unix process for "PeopleSoft 3-tier Breakins".
  2. Stop the Oracle database.
