fix

The VigilEnt Policy Center (VPC) application installs as a system service on Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000.  Sometimes the system account does not have the appropriate privileges to run the application properly. The service can be run under a different account by following these steps:

  1. Create a user account under which the VPC service can run.

  2. This account must have a password that never expires and privileges to write to the VPC install directory.

  3. It must also be given permission to run system level functions and to log on as a service.

  4. Finally, this account must be given full control of the VPC installation directories.

The service must then be set up to execute under this account rather than under the default system account.
