A user may need only limited access to a policy document. For example, a user may need read access, but not review access to a policy document. An administrator can set a user?s read and review access using the ACL option on the Administration tab. Once an ACL is created, an administrator can add privileges when creating a new user or group.

To create a new ACL, use the following procedure:

  1. On the Administration tab, click ACL. The ACL page is displayed.
  2. Click Add. The Privilege dialog box is displayed.
  3. Type a name for the kind of access in the Title field, and click Add. The Privilege Entry dialog box is displayed.
  4. Click one of the following for the Consumer Type field:
    • User?Includes users by individual user ID.
    • Group?Includes a defined group of users.
    • Everyone?Includes every user in the system.
  5. Type or search for an entry in the Consumer ID field. If you selected Everyone in the Consumer Type field, Everyone is displayed in the Consumer ID field. The items in the Consumer ID lookup window correspond to the selection in the Consumer Type field. To search by user or group, click Lookup.
  6. Click the desired Consumer Rights, then click OK. The Privilege dialog box is displayed.
  7. Click OK.

To set a default ACL, use the following procedure:

  1. On the Administration tab, click ACL. The ACL page is displayed.
  2. Click Options. The Access Control List Options dialog box is displayed.

  3. Verify Apply selected ACL to new items is selected, then click the desired ACL from the Default ACL drop-down list.
  4. Click Update.
