Resolution

VPC will not stop working for existing users if the license count has been exceeded, but will provide a warning to all users logging into the system.  New users who have not already been assigned a license key automatically by VPC will be unable to sign policies or complete quizzes.  VPC begins warning 30 days before time license expiration, or when the number of users has reached 75% of the maximum.  VPC Administrators can always check the status of their license from the Home page on the Administration site, or by running a Admin Report (License Report).  The report itself is the best was to gain an understanding of your current user capacity per the license.

Number of Users
The number of users is intended to reflect the total number of employees accessing VPC, but has some subtleties due to the way VPC saves data and counts users.  VPC attempts to count ?active? VPC users.  The method it uses is to count the total number of unique user IDs that have either (1) Acknowledged reading a policy or (2) taken a quiz within the last six calendar months.  The reason that VPC does not simply count the number of users in the User Repository is that many companies have thousands of employees or accounts in their directories that are not using VPC.  The reason that VPC does not simply count the number of people who have read a document or taken a quiz is that VPC keeps these records indefinitely within its database.

Expiration Date
The expiration is the date the product will stop working.   The expiration date may be found by looking the VPC About page.  VPC Trial license keys can be generated to cover any number of users for various periods of time.
