symptom
The 'File/Directory Permissions' report shows User/Group as 'Unknown' and Authority Set as 'Access Denied'.

cause
The VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service account does not have the appropriate permissions to retrieve the information above.

fix

The VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service account must be a Domain Administrator.  Please follow the steps below to specificy a Domain Administrator account for the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service account:

  1. Click Start | Programs | Administrative Tools | Services  to launch the 'Services' Applet.
  2. Click the Logon tab.
  3. In the "Log on as:" field click This account:
  4. Type in the Domain Administrator account credential and click Ok.
  5. Right-click the VigilEnt Security Agent for Windows service and select, to restart the service and apply changes.
