fix

The following features are available in Directory and Resource Administrator 6.x and are not currently in Enterprise Administrator.

  • Granular Delegation: Provides significant flexibility through ActiveView technology and granular delegation. An ActiveView is a dynamic set of objects, such as user accounts and computers, that you want to manage. You can include or exclude objects from multiple domains, OUs, and groups. Granular delegation lets you securely distribute specific tasks, such as resetting an account password or modifying Exchange mailbox rights. You can also implement dual-key security, requiring two people to complete a workflow. These technologies seamlessly join and manage data from multiples sources across your enterprise, including Windows NT SAM, Windows 2000 Active Directory, Exchange 5.5, Exchange 2000, and computer resources. For more information on this topic refer to the  Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) Admin Guide (see link below).

  • Multi-Master Support: Provides load balancing, redundancy, reduces network traffic, and allows users to perform operations on local domain controllers. For more information on this topic, please refer to the following knowledge base article:

  • Policy:  Ability to configure various policies that helps secure enterprises and prevent data corruption. These policies work within the context of the dynamic security model, ensuring that policy enforcement automatically keeps up with your changing enterprise. Establishing policies, such as naming conventions, disk usage limits, and property validation allows you to enforce rules that help maintain the integrity of your enterprise data.  For more information on this topic refer to the Enforcing Policy section in the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) Admin Guide (link provided below).

  • Automation Triggers: Helps automate routine administrator tasks, ensure data consistency, and tap other data sources in your enterprise. Automation triggers allow you to launch a script or program in response to an Assistant Admin (AA) request to complete a task. An automation trigger can run before or after a specific operation. For more information on this topic refer to the Automation Triggers section in the DRA Admin Guide (link provided below).

  • Web Console: The NetIQ DRA Web Console provides improved usability and support for customizations. Provides several new tasks such as computer management tasks, Vital statistics for user accounts, Quick Start to quickly diagnose and solve account issues, Easy customization of built-in tasks, Easy implementation of custom tasks, and Localization support.

  • Recycle Bin: Provides excellent protection against the accidental deletion of a user account and the tremendous amount of work required to correct a user account deletion.  For more information on this topic, please refer to the following knowledge base article:

note
Unlike Enterprise Administrator, Directory and Resource Administrator allows you to manage multiple NT domains, Active Directory domains, Exchange 5.5, Exchange 2000, and local member server SAM database using a single console.
