Error:  'E20235: Failed to find WinNT://domain/computername,  hr=0x80070035. This account will not be migrated'.

cause

Typical causes:

  1. Incorrect WINS name resolution configuration.
  2. The File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks serivce is not running on the machine you are trying to migrate.
  3. Source computer has been renamed after it was selected for the project.


fix

Here are a couple of possible resolutions:

  1. Correct any incorrect WINS database (or LMHOSTS file entries) that point to an incorrect name or IP address.
  2. Start the File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks service on the machine you are planning to migrate.
  3. Remove the object from the project and reselect it.
