symptom
Services are listed twice when viewing a GPO report in NetIQ GPA.

symptom
Duplicate entries for each service are listed in a GPO settings report.

cause
An issue with the GPO can cause this issue where duplicate entries for each service are listed in the GpTmpl.inf file.  This is typically due to not checking the 'Clear this database before importing' check box when applying a security template inf file to the GPO.

fix

The information held, in regards to GPO settings, is primarily held in GpTmpl.inf which is located in:

C:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\domain_name\Policies\{Guid}\GPO\Machine\Microsoft\Windows NT\SecEdit

This is the file that holds the majority of GPO settings and NetIQ GPA uses it to build the GPO reports.  To determine if this is the cause, open the GPTmpl.inf fine in notepad and review the settings.

A potential resolution to this issue is to open this file in a text editor and remove the duplicate entries. Note that this type of modification has not been tested by Microsoft and is an unsupported configuration change.  A better means to resolve this issue is to delete the GPO in question and then recreate it.
