symptom
User GPO settings are not displaying when performing a remote diagnostics against a Windows XP target machine.
cause
The cause of this issue is due to a mistranslation of a loopback processing setting using WMI.
fix
This issue is addressed by Hotfix Q34200, which corrects the following issues:
- When performing a Repository Export operation, some of the SYSVOL GPO files get corrupted if the client machine has Microsoft Windows 2000 SP 4 installed.
- Hotfix Q34200 addresses a flaw in the Repositories migration algorithm that can result in SIDs of well known groups being dropped from File and Registry security settings. Once the hotfix has been installed a user must perform either a check-in or an import on any GPO in the source domain prior to the migration.
- Hotfix Q34200 addresses a flaw in the remote diagnostics that can result in User GPO settings not being displayed on the Microsoft Windows XP platform.
To install this hotfix, run the following executable on the computers that have the Group Policy Administrator consoles (MMC Snap-ins) with consolidated hotfix Q26953B installed.

This hotfix does not contain any updates for the Repository Server Components or Database, so you do not need to install the hotfix on computers that do not have the Group Policy Administrator MMC consoles installed.

Hotfix Q26953B modifies the following files on the computers that have the Group Policy Administrator consoles installed:
- faGPRInterface.dll
- PolicyAuditing.dll
