Computer names, as displayed by the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) interfaces, are not obtained by referencing the physical machines connected to the network or those reported by the Computer Browser service. Both a Windows 2000 Active Directory and a Windows NT4 SAM contain individual computer accounts. DRA obtains a list of all computer accounts in the domain from the NT SAM or the Active Directory database. The only difference is that computers not currently online are displayed with a question mark (?) over the icon in the interface.
