A blank page is displayed when logging into VigilEnt Web Center


This is a known issue and is resolved by VigilEnt Web Center Hotfix 1.  The Hotfix can be obtained from the following link:

To install this Hotfix, run the VigilEntWebCenter-SR1.exe file on each computer where VigilEnt Web Center is installed.

  1. Log on to the VigilEnt Web Center computer with a local administrator account.
  2. Run the VigilEntWebCenter-SR1.exe file.
  3. Follow the instructions until you have finished installing the Hotfix.


The Co-requisite (VSM 4.0.3 Patch 2) may be applied before or after this patch.  VSM 4.0.3 Patch 2 may also be found at the following link:


VigilEnt Web Center Hotfix 1 modifies the following files on the VigilEnt Web Center computer:

  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\server\lib\vwc.jar
  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\server\webapps\VWC\viewRequestMembers.jsp
  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\server\webapps\VWC\viewer\viewerFrameset.jsp
  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\server\webapps\VWC\viewer\viewerTree.jsp
  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\server\webapps\vwc.war
  •  C:\Program Files\Pentasafe\VigilEnt Web Center\bin\ExcelExp.exe

Issues can also occur if Adobe Acrobat is not installed on the Web Center machine.  This is mentioned briefly in the user guide.
