To Enable a Rule 

  1. In the Rules pane of the Rules Editor, right-click the rule name and select Enable. The rule is enabled and its name is no longer displayed in bold.

To Disable a Rule

  1. In the Rules pane of the Rules Editor, right-click the rule name and select Disable. The rule is disabled and its name is displayed in bold.

You can enable a rule that was previously disabled.

You can disable a rule that could cause a large number of alerts to be sent to VigilEnt Security Manager. The rule can then be enabled later to start the stream of alerts again.
