DRA 6.60 and later can be configured to manage a subset of an Active Directory domain which has been termed 'Departmental Support.' 

In order to configure DRA to manage a subset of an Active Directory domain or a particular OU, please perform the following steps while connected to the primary DRA server:

Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

  1. Launch the 'Delegation and Configuration Mangement'  console, logged in as a DRA Admin.
  2. Expand and select Configuration Management | Managed Domains.
  3. Right-click and select on New Managed Domain.
  4. Select Next on the 'Welcome' screen
  5. Select Manage a Domain and enter the NetBIOS name of the domain you wish to manage
  6. Check the Manage a Subtree of this Domain check box.
  7. On the Subtrees dialog box, click Add (You may then be prompted to enter credentials for this domain in the format domain\userid)
  8. Select the desired OU(s) and click OK
  9. Click Next.
  10. Enter an Override account if needed to use to manage that OU
  11. Click Finish

Directory and Resource Administrator 6.60

  1. Launch the 'Directory and Resource Administrator MMC', while logged in as a Built-in Admin.
  2. Expand the Configuration node.
  3. Select Managed and trusted domains.
  4. Select Add.
  5. Select Manage a domain radio and specify the name of the domain.
  6. Select the Manage a subtree of this domain checkbox and click Next.
  7. Click Add,select the OU to be managed, and click OK.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Specify the account that DRA will use to access this OU.
  10. Click Finish.
