Special Notes:

Canceling Tasks at Timeout

After this patch application, VSM 4.0 provides a setting to time out tasks after a specified interval if the agent returns no response. VSM moves the task to the Completed Tasks queue, but the agent may still be processing the request. This patch adds a feature that lets you configure VSS to cancel the task on the agent as well as on VSS after the specified timeout interval.

To set up VSS to cancel tasks on the agent at timeout:

  1. Open the VSS Configuration Utility by clicking Start> Programs> VigilEnt> VigilEnt Security Server>
    Configuration Utility.
  2. Click the Threads tab.
  3. In the Cancel Task on Time Out field, select enabled.

  5. Restart VSS.
