symptom
ActiveView tasks are grayed out when the Directory and Resource Administrator client is connected to the secondary server.
cause
Modifications to the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) Security Model (ActiveViews, Assistant Admins, Roles), can only be made while connected to the primary DRA server. The Security Model on the secondary DRA server can be viewed but not modified. In order to modify the Security Model the DRA client must be connected to the primary DRA server.
