Error: 'Unable to perform ClientSide Auditing due to one of the following reasons: The remote machine is not available or You do not have access rights on the remote machine'.

cause
The cause of this issue is that the Enable Distributed COM option is not checked on the target machine.

fix

To resolve this issue check the Enable Distribution COM option on the target machine by performing the following steps:

  1. Select Start | Run.
  2. Type DCOMCNFG and click OK.
  3. Select the Default Properties tab.
  4. Select the Enable Distributed COM on this computer checkbox and click OK.
