Description:
The Agent Manager experienced an error attempting to contact computer "<Computer Name>" while resolving the Managed Computer Rules. The service account may lack necessary privileges, the computer may be offline, or the computer may be running something other than Windows NT or Windows 2000.

The net call failed in <Number of seconds this call took> seconds, without timing out.

System error code: 53
System error text: The network path was not found.

cause

Normally this is caused by not being able to contact the target machine or the service account lacking permission.

fix

Here are some troubleshooting steps that will assist in finding the cause of this event:

1. Check to see that the computer exists or is on-line in the network.
   
2. Check that the service account has access.
   
3. Try to logon locally with the service account and create a registry key.
   
4. Try ping the machine from the DCAM and the DCAM from the machine.
   
5. Try to map a drive both ways.
    
6. Verify that the agent in registered in WINS.
   
7. Verify the Managed Computer Rule is correct.
   
8. Verify that the Remote Registry Service and default Admin shares are enabled on remote agents.
