Microsoft Does Not Recommend Installing Exchange Server and Outlook on the Same Computer.

cause
The recommendation of installing Exchange Migrator on the target Exchange Server is mainly a matter of performance.

fix
Installing Exchange Migrator on the target Exchange Server is not a requirement. There is a workaround for issues that may be encountered by having both Outlook and Exchange installed on the same machine.  Some of these same issues may also result when installing both Outlook and the Exchange management tools on  the same machine.  Having Outlook and the Exchange management tools installed on the same machine is a requirement for Exchange Migrator.  Workarounds exist for enabling full functionality of Outlook and the Exchange management tools when they are installed on the same machine.
