symptom
Error: 'Connection Refused - Cannot make connection to the agent' when running reports.

cause
The VigilEnt Security Manager 'Server Properties' includes an IP Address to the wrong server.  

fix

To resolve this issue include the IP Address for the agent monitoring the server in question.  To update the IP address for the problematic agent within VSM:

  1. Login to VigilEnt Security Manager. 
  2. In the upper-left panel of the VSM GUI, right-click the server in question and select Properties
  3. In the 'IP Address' field, type the IP address of the server running the VSM DB Agent service.
  4. Click OK.
