fix

Directory and Resource Administrator does not have the ability to delete Exchange 5.5 mailboxes only without deleting the associated user account, however DRA does allow the ability to delete an Exchange 2000 mailbox only.  DRA will allow deletion of an Exchange 5.5 mailbox when the user account is deleted if the Exchange policy to Delete the mailbox when an Assistant Admin deletes the user account is enabled.  To enable this Exchange 5.5 policy, perform the following:

For Directory and Resource Administrator Versions 6.x:

  1. Launch the Directory and Resource Administrator MMC while logged on as an Assistant Admin with, at minimum, Built-in Policy powers.
  2. Select Policy and automation management.
  3. Highlight Exchange Policies.
  4. Click Mailbox Rules.
  5. In the Exchange policies dialog box, select Mailbox rules tab if it is not selected.
  6. Under the section Deleting user accounts select Delete the mailbox when an Assistant Admin deletes the user account.
  7. Click OK.

For Directory and Resource Administrator Versions 7.x:

  1. Launch the DRA Delegation and Configuraition GUI while logged on as an Assistant Admin with, at minimum, DRA Policy Admins powers.
  2. Highlight the Policy and Automation Management node.
  3. Select Configure Exchange Policies... from the Tasks menu.
  4. Select Mailbox rules.
  5. Under the section Deleting user accounts that have an Exchange 5.5 mailbox select Delete the mailbox when an Assistant Admin deletes the user account.
  6. Click OK.
