symptom
Error: [7418]E25826: Could not change group type for LDAP: <LDAP_path>
cause
This error is expected when not all of the members from the source domain Global Group (GG) have been migrated or a mixed mode domain is involved.
fix
Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) attempts to convert Global Groups (GG) to Universal Groups (UG) when all group members are being migrated between 2 native mode domains. You can use the UG in any domains in the forest, which is why DMA does not by default, perform a copy operation on this GG. In the case that DMA cannot convert the GG into a UG when mixed mode is involved, DMA restores the source GG , makes a copy of that GG in the target domain and adds the appropriate membership.
In the case where not all members of the GG have been migrated, DMA cannot create a UG in the target domain with partial membership because it would not maintain the same access to resources if used in the source domain to replace the GG.
