Error: "There is no Exchange 2000 mailbox stores available for this task".

symptom
Creating a mailbox generates an error message. 

cause
If the first server in the list of Exchange servers returned from the DRA server is an Exchange server with no mailbox stores, then the above error is returned.

fix

The following workarounds can be used to resolve this problem:

  1. Clone the mailbox instead of Creating the mailbox.
  2. Take the Exchange server that does not have a mailbox store off line or remove it from the Exchange site.
  3. Put a temporary mailbox store on this Exchange server so that the DRA list will be brought up.
