Can Directory and Resource Administrator manage the local SAM on a member server without adding that member server to be managed by DRA?

fix

In order for Directory and Resource Administrator to be able to manage the SAM of a member server, the member server would have to be added as a managed object in DRA.

For information on how to add a Member server to be managed by DRA, refer to the following KB:

How can a member server be added to Directory and Resource Administrator for local security database management?
https://www.netiq.com/kb/esupport/consumer/esupport.asp?id=NETIQKB214

note

When adding a member server to be managed by DRA, the following should be considered:

  • User accounts on the member server will be counted towards licensing.
  • DRA will perform cache refreshes against any managed member server.  In the case of a large number of member servers being set to be managed by DRA, a cache refresh would be run for every member server which could impact performance.
