An error is returned when running EAMigrate to migrate the Enterprise Administrator 5.x security model to Directory and Resource Administrator 6.x.

Error: 'EA Client DLL error rc = 28445 (PDC not found)'.

Error: 'Communication was attempted with domain domain_name'.

cause
This error is a result of a change in the way Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) reads the source for the migration.  The utility uses the Source variable to identify where the Enterprise Administrator (EA) security information is coming from.  That source variable instructs the utility which administration server to connect to for the information.  Simply entering a machine name will cause it to look for a domain with that name instead of that server.

fix

There are two ways to correct this, which are as follows:

• Define the /source: variable by specifying the domain name managed by the EA server instead of the EA server.
  
• Define the /source: variable by specifying the name of the EA server in URL format (\\computer_name).
