symptom
An error stating 'An error occurred' is returned when attempting to update a user account's property page.

symptom
After clicking 'OK' when an error is returned, an error stating 'The Directory and Resource Administrator server cannot identify the client' is received.

symptom
After clicking 'Ok' when a second error is returned, the Assistant Admin is returned to the 'User Account Properties Page' without any changes made to the user account's properties.

symptom
Error: 'The Directory and Resource Administrator server cannot identify the client'.

cause
This issue can be caused by incorrect authentication methods set on the virtual directories installed by the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) user interfaces.

fix

To resolve the above described issue, modify the directory security for the DRA, OnePointAdmin, OnePoint and DRA1 virtual directories to Basic authentication and Integrated Windows authentication.  Restart the IIS Admin Service and the World Wide Web Publishing Service to allow the DRA interfaces to realize the changes.
