fix

In order to determine if a migrated computer has successfully joined the target domain, review the dctlog.txt that is created on the migrated computer.  The easiest way to review these logs is from the Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) console immediately after the computer migration.  The dctlog.txt can be viewed from the DMA console by clicking Agent Detail on the 'Domain Migration Administrator Agent Monitor' window that appears as agents are dispatched to the computers being migrated. Go to the Server List tab, select a computer and click Agent Detail

This will display the dctlog.txt file on the remote computer. After this window is closed, the dctlog.txt file must be viewed by opening that file on the computer that was migrated.  This file is typically located in the \WINNT\Temp directory on the computer that ran the agent.

note

The DMA Migrated Computers and Unmigrated Computers reports will indicate if computer accounts have been created in the target domain.  If computers have been selected in the Select Objects wizard but have not been migrated, those computers will appear in the Unmigrated Computers report.  However, these reports do not indicate if the migrated computer has successfully joined to the target domain.
