symptom
An error is received stating that Internet Explorer 5.0 (IE) or later needs to be installed correctly while trying to install the MMC client.
cause
This is usually caused if IE is installed without the Outlook Express component. The Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) installation program looks for the mapi32.dll ,which is installed with Outlook Express. The mapi32.dll is required to install the MMC client for DRA. This DLL is used by the Address Book Provider.
fix
This can be resolved by installing the Outlook Express component for IE on the client machine. If you do not wish to install Outlook Express, copy the mapi32.dll file into the c:\winnt\system32 directory and repeat the MMC client installation.
