The total response time is the sum of the time required to prepare for calling a server function and the time spent executing that server function.

A web server?s processing time is the total time required by the server to process all received requests. The servicing of requests is broken down into several steps, with each step executing a particular server function.

Therefore, the processing time can be considered to be the summation of all functions? total response time.
