Resolution

fact
Sun ONE Application Server for Unix

fact
AppManager 5.0

fact
Sun ONE Application Server 6.5

fact
Sun ONE Application Server 6.0

fact
Multiple instances of Sun ONE Application Server for Unix are found under one Unix machine on the AM GUI console.

fact
The SNMP Knowledge Scripts run successfully against one instance.

fact
The SNMP Knowledge Scripts fails with an  SNMP counter not found event when run against the other instance.

symptom
Event: SNMP counter not found:  .1.3.6.1.4.1.1450.3.21.1.35.10818.10818; .1.3.6.1.4.1.1450.3.21.1.36.10818.10818

cause
This is a known limitation with Sun ONE Application Server 6.0.  This also seems to be a limitation with Sun ONE Application Server 6.5.

fix
  1. In regards to Sun ONE Application Server 6.5, we were not able to get this to work. Only one instance at a time could be accessed with the SNMP Knowledge Scripts. However, Sun ONE support has said that this problem is resolved with iAS 6.5 Maintenance Update 1 and higher versions and to refer to the 6.5 MU1 release notes (Readme doc) defect 4545862.
