Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
Response Time for Microsoft SQL Server

Situation

Error: -2147024809 Could not find the domain controller for the domain.
SQL-RT_ADOQuery event detail message generated.

Resolution

To properly run this script and all other SQL-RT scripts you must:
  1. Fill in the "run as" user name, "run as" password, and "run as" domain for each SQL-RT job.  This can be "run as" the same user or a different user for each SQL process/client transaction job.

  2. The NetiQ AppManager client resource monitor and NetiQ AppManager client communication manager services on the AppManager agent machine running the SQL-RT script must be "logged on" as local system. This will ensure that multiple job iterations for the SQL-RT scripts can be launched as different users specified in the "run as" username field or SQL user name field if integrated security is set to 'n'.

Cause

This occurs when trying to validate the user against the domain controller for the "run as" user name field and the user is not valid against the domain.
