Error: 'This page provides unsafe information to an ActiveX control.  Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner.  As a result, this page may not display correctly' when viewing pages in the MMC

cause
This issue is the result of IE Local intranet security being set too high or the IE security settings have been customized so ActiveX controls are set to disable or prompt.

fix

To resolve:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and select Tools | Internet Options.
  2. Select the 'Security' tab. 
  3. Select 'Local Intranet'.
  4. Verify the security level. 
  5. Click CustomLevel.
  6. Verify the ActiveX settings are enabled.
