Resolution

goal
Can I define any share in UNC so that DMA pulls the ACL's and is translating the ACL's locally on a NetApp filer?

fact
Domain Migration Administrator 7.x

fix

NetApp filers are typically accessed via UNC path and/or mapped drives. Either one of these conventions should allow for a successful security translation. As stated in Chapter 1 of the User Guide:

"Domain Migration Administrator uses network drive mappings to access the file system on NetApp Filers."

note
Please note that this information can also be obtained from Chapter 7 under 'Translating Security on NetApp Filers', Appendix B under 'Translating Security for NetApp Filers', and Appendix C under 'Security translation for NetApp filers' of the DMA User Guide.
