If a Windows 2000 domain Controller has been demoted to a member server by running DCPromo, then Domain Migration Administrator can migrate the machine. Domain Migration Administrator will not migrate a Windows 2000 machine that is a Domain Controller.

Domain Migration Administrator will not allow you to migrate a domain controller from the source domain. This is by design. Domain Migration Administrator does allow you to select a domain controller from the source domain in the Select Objects wizard. However, when using the Migrate Computers wizard, the domain controller will not be displayed in the Computer Selection screen. Therefore, you cannot select a domain controller in the Migrate Computers wizard, and cannot migrate it.
