The 'Synchronize BDC' option, in the MMC, is not available when selecting a BDC with the 'Browser Service' turned off.

When an Assistant Admin selects a BDC within the 'Computer View' of the Directory and Resource Administrator MMC, the 'Synchronize BDC' menu option is not available. This occurs even if the Assistant Admin has the 'Synchronize Domain Controllers'power.
cause
The Browser Service is turned off in a Windows NT4 domain. DRA depends on the Browser Service to determining the computer type, e.g. workstation or Domain Controller.

fix
Hotfix 11698 resolves this issue. After applying the Hotfix, the 'Synchronize BDC' option will be available when selecting a Windows NT4 BDC within the 'Computer View'.
To install this Hotfix, run the DRA65000_Hotfix11698.exe file on the Administration Server computer. This Hotfix modifies the following files on the Administration server computer:
- Accounts.dll
- ResProvider.dll
- ComputerProperties.asp
By default, the listed files are located in the Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
