symptom
Error: 'Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service' After a Multi-Master Synchronization

symptom
When connecting to a secondary DRA server after performing a synchronization, all ActiveView and Assistant Admin definitions are missing.

symptom
The HKLM\Software\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\Administration\Data\Modules\Security key on the secondary DRA server does not contain any ActiveView or Assistant Admin configuration information.

cause
This issue is caused by a lack of adequate free space for the registry.  When DRA synchronizes the multi-master set, it uses RegBack to create copies of the registry keys to be replicated.  These key files are then transferred from the primary DRA server to the secondary, where they are imported to the registry, completing the synchronization process.  In order to restore a key file, RegRest requires an amount of available registry space equal to twice the size of the file being restored.  If that space is not available, the synchronization fails and this error is generated.

fix

To correct this issue, increase the Maximum registry size on the secondary DRA server to an amount that is at least double the size of all synchronized files.  To do so, please perform the following steps:

  1. Launch Windows Explorer on the primary DRA server.
  2. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\NetIQ OnePoint\DRA\Replication directory and determine the total size of the six files listed.  The Old subdirectory is not replicated and should not be included in this total.
  3. Close Windows Explorer.
  4. Right-click on theMy Computer icon on the DRA server desktop and select Properties.
  5. Select the Advanced tab and click Performance Options.
  6. Click the Change button in the Virtual memory section.
  7. Set the Maximum registry size so that the difference between the Maximum registry size and the Current Registry size is an amount at least double the combined size of all six files in the Replication directory.
  8. Click OK until the My Computer properties screen is closed.
