Reinstallation of a Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) server renders the Exchange tab unavailable even though other DRA servers display it properly.
symptom
On two occasions, customers who reloaded DRA on secondary servers with Exchange 2000 enabled experienced an issue in which DRA does not expose the Exchange tab even though other DRA servers in the same Multi-Master Set are performing properly.
cause
Although no specific cause for this is know, it is theorized that the Exchange provider portion of the DRA server is not properly accessing the domain objects because the Accounts Cache Refresh has not yet run and thus access is denied.
fix
Stopping the MCS OnePoint Administration Server service and restarting it eliminated these symptoms on both cases.
