Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 6.40

symptom
Trace files indicate that multi-master synchronization is failing.

symptom

The following events are recorded in the Application event log for every multi-master synchronization:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MCSAdminSvc
Event Category: MultiMaster
Event ID: 13415
Date:  3/20/2002
Time:  5:10:04 PM
User:  N/A
Computer: servername
Description:
The replication thread has started to do a Delta replication to servername.

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MCSAdminSvc
Event Category: MultiMaster
Event ID: 13401
Date:  3/20/2002
Time:  5:10:04 PM
User:  N/A
Computer: servername
Description:
The replication thread has finished Delta replication to servername.  It failed to replicate to <none>, see the replication status for more details.

A failure message is written to the trace file, though, indicating that the scheduled synchronization failed.  Sample trace file entries are as follows:

``685878``-842150451`0`36428`14795`2`14795`CRegBasedWorkflow::ProcessWorkflow`336061784`29478962`3/20/2002 17:10:04:608`Worknode returned with hr=0
``685885``-842150451`2`37440`15717`1`15717`<==Submit==>`336061784`29478962`3/20/2002 17:10:04:608`Failed requested job:MmReplicateJob

cause
A flag is set by any Directory and Resource Administrator job that runs through Windows Task Scheduler.  In this case, even though the job runs successfully and events are written to the Application event log accordingly, the flag is not set properly and the trace file records an error.

fix

This issue is resolved in Directory and Resource Administrator 6.5.
