fix

Below is a recommended procedure for migrating in a staged Exchange Migrator (EM) / Domain Migration Administrator (DMA) scenario (Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Organization to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Organization ) when your not sure if the mailbox or User Account gets migrated first.

  1. Run EMCLI Dirsync with the /MERGEMETHOD of SIDHistory (or SamAccountName), and the /CLEARTABLES switch. You can also use the /Verbose switch if you wish for more detailed output.
    • This step will allow Exchange Migrator (EM) to merge any accounts correctly that may have already been migrated with SID History. Please note that you will need at least EM 2.2 SP1 to merge correctly.
  2. Have the DMA migration team notify the EM migration team when any NT Accounts have been migrated. (An explicit list here is suggested to help the EM migration team)
  3. The EM team should delete the list's corresponding Contacts that were created by the last EMCLI Dirsync.
  4. The EM team should Run EMCLI Dirsync with /MERGEMETHOD of SIDHistory (or SamAccountName), and the /CLEARTABLES switch. You can also use the /Verbose switch if you wish. This way if any Accounts have already been migrated, EMCLI Dirsync will mail-enable the correct account. Please note that you will need at least EM 2.2 SP1 to merge correctly.
  5. The EM team can now migrate the MBs successfully at their leisure.

note
Please note that the DMA migration can continue on throughout this process.
