symptom
Custom recipients (CRs) created by EMCLI DIRSYNC are not being replaced when migrating the corresponding mailboxes (MBs)?
cause
The contact was created by EMCLI DIRSYNC and an actual user account with sid history was created by a migration tool (DMA, ADMT). Exchange Migrator will merge on the account as specified in the 'Select Windows 2000 Account Merge Options' page of the 'Specify Migration Options' wizard.

fix
There are a couple of possible solutions to this issue.
In order to mail enable all accounts at once:
- Manually delete the CRs in the target.
- Run EMCLI DIRSYNC along with the /CLEARTABLES /MERGEMETHOD switches to mail enable the actual user accounts.
- Migrate the mailboxes.
In order to handle only the objects you are currently planning to migrate:
- Manually delete the CRs in the target for the corresponding mailboxes you wish to migrate.
- Migrate the mailboxes using the appropriate merge method
