Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 6.x

Situation

How do I configure the Action_Page script to work with PageMate paging software?

Resolution

In order to configure AppManager to send pages to Pagemate paging software (or any pager software), you must first configure the netiqpage.ini file.

Paging systems and target recipients (individuals or groups) are defined in the \winnt\netiqpage.ini file. Before using this Knowledge Script, review and edit the netiqpage.ini file to reflect the groups, phone numbers, and other parameters appropriate for your specific paging system.

For more information or examples of the netiqpage.ini file, please see the online help for the Action_Page Knowledge Script.

Action_Page Knowledge Script can be used with any paging software that has command-line capabilities. For PageMate, the netiq.ini file should look something like:

pagemate = c:\program files\pagemate\page send %s %s %s

[pmate]

pageco1 = pagemate
target 1 = <name/group>
param 1 = <null>
start time = 0:0:0
stop time = 23:59:59

Additional Information

Formerly known as NETIQKB10085

The Stop Time always needs to be set with something other than 0:0:0 or the page will not be sent.
