NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

How do I globally change the properties for a running job?

Resolution

You can propagate all of the properties of a Knowledge Script to any running jobs started by the Knowledge Script. When you propagate Knowledge Script properties, any changes to existing parent or child job properties will be overwritten.

  1. Make the required changes to the default knowledge script in the knowledge script pane.

  2. In the Knowledge Script pane, select the Knowledge Script you just modified and then right click and select Properties Propagation > Ad Hoc Jobs.

  3. In the Properties Propagation dialog box, select the components of the Knowledge Script that you want to propagate to associated ad hoc jobs: In this case you would select "Properties".

  4. If you select script it will propagate any changes made to the logic (scripting code) of the Knowledge Script.

  5. Any corresponding jobs are stopped and restarted with the new Knowledge Script properties.

To propagate changes to knowledge Scripts in a Knowledge Script Group, follow the instructions above but instead of selecting Ad Hoc jobs select Knowledge Script Group members.
