Resolution

goal
Why does the DAS account need to be a member of local administrator group on the Microsoft SQL Server computer?

fix

The admin right is necessary on a Microsoft SQL Server, for the identity account to operate a COM+ object, because the COM+ infrastructure uses them. The DASServer Class component resides on the Security Manager database computer, which runs under a security context of a OnePoint service account.

On the database machine, using system32 Dcomcnfg.exe, find the "DasServers" class. You can verify, on the db computer, that 'This User' properties of DASServer Class is set to the same account and password you specified in the Transaction Server Explorer or Component Services for the DAS package (the new DAS service account).
