Resolution

goal
Is it possible to create only one project containing all the recipient containers and copy the structure to the target server?

Exchange Migrator 1.x

fix

No, Exchange Migrator (EM) does not migrate the Recipient container hierarchy.  Exchange Migrator (EM) allows you to migrate all mailboxes from a single site and migrate into a single destination.   If you are looking to retain the hierarchy you could accomplish this by manually changing the target path in a single project between migrations, or with separate projects; the latter being the most logically sound.  The process would require migrating each source Recipient container to an existing target OU.

Example:  You have 4 Recipients containers on the source Organization, and you want to have 4 OUs on the target Directory hierarchy:

  • One possibility is to manually duplicate the hierarchy on the target and migrate the 4 Recipient containers in separate migrations, each time pointing the migration to the desired target container.
  • The other possibility is to create separate projects for each container.  This is the recommended solution because it allows you to keep items logically ordered.

note

NetIQ recommends thorough lab testing.
