Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 6.50

symptom
The documentation for Directory and Resource Administrator refers to load balancing in the latest versions of the software.

symptom
According to the documentation, DRA is load balance-capable.  This is misleading to customers as load balancing implies an automatic process that happens programatically.  In fact, DRA's multi-master capabilities allow only distribution of the workload across the different servers and that must be done manually.

The offending sections of the documentation are as follows:

"When you start the MMC interface, you initially connect to the best?available Administration server in the local domain. The best available Administration server is the server with the smallest traffic load. By seeking the best available Administration server, the MMC interface provides a quicker connection and improved performance." - Admin Guide page 27

"Minimizes traffic by distributing loads across multiple Administration servers at different sites." - Admin Guide page 200

"When you start the MMC interface, you initially connect to the best?available Administration server in the local domain. The best available Administration server is the server with the smallest traffic load. By seeking the best available Administration server, the MMC interface provides a quicker connection and improved performance." - User Guide page 26
