symptom

The /usr/netiq/UnixAgent/log/nqmlog shows the following entry:

configuration file parsing error : Document root element is missing.



cause
The information being sent from the UnixAgent to the Management Server contains XML.  The Mangement Server requires an XML Parser to interpret this information.

fix

Please install the Microsoft XML Parser, version 3.0 SP1 or later, onto the Management Server.  The executable, "msxml3sp1.exe," can be found in the /contrib directory on the AppManager 5.x Installation CD.
