Does the location of the Exchange Migrator console affect the speed of migration?

fix

Yes, migration speed may be affected because the mail data flows through the console machine.  Placing the console on the local LAN provides better performance than migrating from a console machine across a WAN.

To see what some of our customers have seen in the way of migration speeds, please see the following article: What is the benchmark performance that can be expected from Exchange Migrator while migrating mailboxes (NETIQKB1151)?

For information on how to install additional console machines that share an Exchange Migrator database, please see the following article: How can multiple Exchange Migrator consoles be configured to use a central database (NETIQKB21295 )?
