Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 8.0.x

Situation

How do i change or remove a resource dependency?
Jobs deployed on the cluster display a status of 'Running - Inactive'.

Resolution

To change a resource dependency first identify what the current dependency is.

In the Operator Console:

  1. Right Click the agent
  2. Choose Troubleshooter
  3. Client Resource Monitor Info
  4. Application Monitoring Status

Output will be Similar to the following:

<RSC #0> :
 Name       =>  NT
 JobCnt     =>  5
 Status     =>  Active
 ResDepend  =>  C:
 SvcDepend  =>

To change this from C: to another drive create a new ad-hoc job. Choose the Knowledge script category, in our example NT, and set the 'Required available resources' to a new drive, for example D:. If you would like to clear the resource you can leave the value for 'Required available resources' blank and this will remove the specific dependency.

To clear all resource dependencies Cold-start both NetIQ Services (NetIQ AppManager Client Communications Manager and NetIQ AppManager Client Resource Monitor) on the target Servers.
